Silent Keys

“Silent Key” is a term used in the amateur radio community for when a operator has passed away. The term “key” references to the telegraph key, a piece of equipment that early amateur radio operators used to send Morse code. This equipment is still of course, is still used to this day.

This page on our website will acknowledge Silent Keys in our area.
Sadly this page already has a Silent Key to recognize.

As a group, we are sad to announce there is now another SK, Keith Williams VK3KGW. We pass on our condolences to family and friends of Keith’s.
Rest in peace.
From all of us at The Warrnambool Men’s Shed Radio Group.
